De Beir had to learn Braille 12 years ago because her father became blind. This set her to use the perforation of paper in her own work. She uses tools or shoes with nails to pierce different sorts of papers. The holes are created randomly, only using her own energy. Then the pieces of cardboard are transformed into different forms such as books, boxes and architectural installations. At the moment, she is particularly involved in exploiting the space in which she happens to be working by trying to change the architectural environment with her structures. --website
