Naoko Serino

Serino makes use of combed jute that seems very fragile and transitory, but is actually a very strong fibre. She applies a thin layer of jute fibres on a basic form and covers this with paste. After the drying process she removes the form and a three-dimensional artwork of jute, light and air is born. By multiplying small, independent pieces Serino creates a roomfilling jute installation. --website
